Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds vs. Centennial Eagles

Lincoln Park Academy and Centennial are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds will welcome the Centennial Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln Park Academy will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Lincoln Park Academy picked up another tournament win last Saturday. They walked away with a 54-43 win over Evangelical Christian.

Lincoln Park Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Titherington led the charge by going 6 of 11 on her way to 16 points and seven assists. Titherington is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alexa Titherington, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Centennial came into Saturday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They claimed a resounding 53-21 victory over IMG Academy Blue. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Lincoln Park Academy pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.4 points. As for Centennial, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Lincoln Park Academy came up short against Centennial when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 54-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Centennial's Jailyn Williams, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds.
