Volleyball Game Preview: Pacific Ridge Firebirds vs. Bishop's Knights

Pacific Ridge hasn't had much luck against Bishop recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Firebirds will challenge the Knights at 5:15 p.m.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Pacific Ridge and Santa Fe Christian had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Firebirds took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Tuesday. Firebirds fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 19-25, 25-16, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Bishop's sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over La Jolla Country Day on Tuesday.

Bishop's took La Jolla Country Day into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 23-25, 21-25, 15-13.

Bishop's is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for Pacific Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.

Pacific Ridge suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Bishop's in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Firebirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
