Baseball Recap: Manistee Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fremont, Manistee was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Manton Rangers. The win continues a trend for the Mariners in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won three in a row.

Braylen Zimmerman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eli Workman, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landin Sowa, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Manistee's victory bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Manton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5.

Looking ahead, Manistee will challenge Hesperia at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manton, they will face off against Evart at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
