Sto-Rox comes up short despite David Johnson's strong performance

It was a good run, but the Sto-Rox Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 58-42 bruising from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sto-Rox of the 57-52 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 3rd.

When it comes to explaining why Sto-Rox lost, one person who can't be blamed is David Johnson. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Shalen Burton, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.

Sto-Rox's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Sto-Rox won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Hopewell is ranked 492nd, while the Vikings are ranked 498th). As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Ironmen at 7:00 p.m.
