Basketball Recap: Desert Edge Takes a Loss

Desert Edge was the 71-43 winner over Youngker when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Desert Edge Scorpions were dealt a 63-26 defeat at the hands of the Youngker Roughriders on Friday. The Scorpions' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Youngker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashlee Gonzalez, who posted 17 points. D'Mya Edmon was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Desert Edge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Youngker, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Desert Edge will host Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Youngker, they will head out to square off against Paradise Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
