Sandia has gone a perfect 6-0 against Capital recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Matadors will welcome the Jaguars at 11:00 a.m. Sandia's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Wednesday, Sandia didn't have quite enough to beat La Cueva and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Sandia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico soccer rankings (they are ranked 41st, while La Cueva are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Capital's offense. They came up short against Santa Fe on Wednesday, falling 10-0.

Sandia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Capital, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything went Sandia's way against Capital in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Sandia made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Matadors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
