Basketball Recap: Walnut Takes a Loss

If Walnut was feeling good fresh off their 64-36 takedown of Hamilton last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Walnut Wildcats came up short against the Corinth Warriors on Monday, falling 62-42. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Walnut's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for Corinth, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-14.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Walnut Wildcats challenge the Hatley Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Corinth, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-44 win against West Point on the 21st.
