Volleyball Game Preview: Argyle Eagles vs. Grapevine Mustangs

The Argyle Eagles will challenge the Grapevine Mustangs on Monday. Argyle is coming into the match hot, having won their last 15 games.

Argyle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Wylie.

While Argyle won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-22, 25-20.

Lubbock-Cooper came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Grapevine, but Prescott Carey wouldn't allow it. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 win over the Pirates on Thursday thanks in part to Carey, who had 18 digs and three aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more digs the last three times she's played.

While Grapevine might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Lubbock-Cooper scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 23-25, 25-19.

Grapevine's victory bumped their record up to 26-19. As for Argyle, their win bumped their record up to 36-3.

Argyle took their victory against Grapevine in their previous matchup back in October by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
