Baseball Recap: George Jenkins Drops Season-High Score on Ridge Community

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask George Jenkins). Everything went their way against the Ridge Community Bolts on Wednesday as the George Jenkins Eagles made off with a 15-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bolts: they've now won seven in a row.

Hayden Bartlett made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bartlett was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Sebastian Phakousonh was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jose Negron, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

George Jenkins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.6.

George Jenkins' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Ridge Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Looking ahead, George Jenkins will face off against Winter Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. George Jenkins' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Winter Haven's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ridge Community, they will challenge Four Corners at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
