Recap: Hillcrest Trojans vs. La Sierra Eagles

The Hillcrest Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 31 points or more this season. They took their game at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 86-46 win over La Sierra. Winning may never get old, but Hillcrest sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Leading Hillcrest to victory were McKel Shedrick and Nate Bowden. Shedrick scored 27 points, while Bowden dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Shedrick's 21st in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Darius Taylor, who scored seven points along with five assists.

Hillcrest pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.7 points per game. As for La Sierra, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Hillcrest will head out on the road to face off against Grand Terrace at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Grand Terrace knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Hillcrest likes a good challenge. As for La Sierra, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Arlington at 7:00 p.m.
