Football Recap: Connetquot Comes Up Short

If Connetquot was riding high fresh off their 42-14 takedown of Centereach last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The T-Birds lost 28-7 to the East Islip Redmen on Friday. While losing is never fun, the T-Birds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Redmen are ranked 73rd).

Connetquot's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for East Islip, their record is now 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Connetquot will challenge rival West Babylon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, East Islip is set to square off against their familiar foe Northport at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
