Softball Preview: Northwest Indians vs. Washington Tigers
The Northwest Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Washington Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Northwest came up short against Springfield on Friday, falling 9-1.
Northwest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally Sharrer, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Sharrer has brought in this season.
Meanwhile, Washington had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitchers stepped up to hand McKinley a 7-0 shutout on Monday. The Tigers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 22nd (when they won 11-1).
Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Washington, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Northwest might still be hurting after the 21-2 defeat they got from Washington when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
