Soccer Recap: Emerald Takes a Loss

Emerald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dixie Hornets. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

Caiden Hedrick and Daniel Duran Ibarra scored both of Emerald's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Emerald now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Dixie, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Emerald will venture away from home to take on Wren at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dixie, they will head out on the road to face off against McCormick at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.
