Football Game Preview: St. Paul's Crusaders vs. John Carroll Patriots

St. Paul is 2-7 against John Carroll since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Crusaders will be playing at home against the Patriots at 3:00 p.m. St. Paul's will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Saturday, St. Paul's didn't have too much trouble with Severn School as they won 20-6.

Landan Blue was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 76 yards and one TD, and also caught one score. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 70 yards.

Meanwhile, John Carroll suffered their biggest defeat since September 6, 2024 on Friday. They lost 35-14 to Boys Latin.

John Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for St. Paul's, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

St. Paul's didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against John Carroll in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 26-21 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Patriots' Carson Shoffner, who rushed for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 46 receiving yards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Crusaders still be able to contain Shoffner? There's only one way to find out.
