Volleyball Recap: West Johnston Wildcats vs. Middle Creek Mustangs
West Johnston and Middle Creek squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but West Johnston had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.
The final score came out to 25-15, 18-25, 25-14, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, West Johnston saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jadelyn McNutt had 16 digs and two assists. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for McNutt. Paige Cabell also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Middle Creek found their leader in sophomore Cameron Gerber, who had 21 digs and five aces. Gerber is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.
West Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Middle Creek, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.
West Johnston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Middle Creek, they will challenge Harnett Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
