Baseball Recap: Eustis Beats Lake Minneola for Their Fifth Straight Win

Eustis pushed their score to seven the last time they played Lake Minneola, but on Friday they couldn't quite do it again. The Eustis Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Lake Minneola Hawks. The two-run effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Eustis saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Walker, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Walker a new career-high. Israel Green also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen base of the season.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Lake Minneola, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eustis will head out to face off against Mount Dora Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Minneola, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks face off against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st.
