Softball Recap: Los Amigos Has No Trouble Against Savanna

Los Amigos barely beat Savanna the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lobos put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 11-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Lobos have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maria Castillo was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 6-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Alina Mendez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Castillo wasn't the only one making solid contact: Los Amigos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Los Amigos' win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Savanna, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Los Amigos has already played their next contest, a 23-2 loss against Anaheim on the 11th. As for Savanna, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 defeat against Santiago on the 11th.
