Basketball Recap: Neshoba Central Starts Season with Win on the Road

Neshoba Central had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Newton County Cougars on Tuesday as they made off with a 69-45 victory. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Kyli Truss had a dynamite game, putting up 25 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024. Kaleigh Moore was another key player, earning seven points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neshoba Central will welcome Northwest Rankin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Newton County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Philadelphia at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
