Piedmont had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Monroe Redhawks with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Piedmont took every set by at least 18 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-5, 25-3.

Looking ahead, Piedmont will challenge West Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Monroe, they will welcome Parkland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
