Volleyball Recap: St. Charles Wins Going Away Against Whitfield

St. Charles lost to Whitfield back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

While St. Charles won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-8, 25-12.

Rosemary Kuegele paced St. Charles' offense, picking up 12 kills. Kuegele got some help from Brynn Genebacher and her 14 assists. Kuegele was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Whitfield's loss came despite strong showings from Natalie Michelman and Charli Richards. Michelman had 21 digs and one assist, while Richards had nine digs.

St. Charles now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Whitfield, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, St. Charles will square off against Winfield at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whitfield, they will host Lutheran South at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
