Volleyball Recap: Skyline Falls Short of Oakland Tech in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Skyline can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Oakland Tech Bulldogs on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss two weeks ago.

While Skyline was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Oakland Tech's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-21.

This is the second loss in a row for Skyline and nudges their season record down to 6-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 20-6 Oakland (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.1% over those games). As for Oakland Tech, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakland Tech, they will head out to challenge Oakland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
