Clintondale came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the South Lake Cavaliers. While the Dragons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Brett Polakowski and Jordan Pruett did most of the damage at the plate: Polakowski went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Pruett went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Polakowski is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Puckett, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Clintondale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .529 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Clintondale's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for South Lake, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Clintondale will challenge Sterling Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons will need to watch out since the Stallions have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for South Lake, they will take on Eastpointe at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Shamrocks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.8 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
