Given Archbishop McNicholas' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Badin is ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Archbishop McNicholas was led to victory by Andrew Ehlers and Jack Tucker. Ehlers scored ten points along with eight rebounds, while Tucker scored ten points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Ehlers' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carson Young, who scored six points.
