Basketball Recap: West Elk Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

West Elk had lost three straight headed into Tuesday's contest, but Maddex Moreno didn't let it get to four. The West Elk Patriots walked away with a 52-40 win over the Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans on Tuesday thanks in part to Moreno, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 31 points and three steals. The game was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.

West Elk's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

West Elk is taking a road trip to square off against South Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Elk is facing South Haven at the right time seeing as South Haven is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, they will welcome Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxford will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Cedar Vale/Dexter surely won't give up without a fight.
