            Softball Recap: Northeastern Knights vs. Delta Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Northeastern won the last time they faced Delta and things went their way  on Tuesday too. The Knights came out on top against the Eagles by a score of  12-8. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Knights.
Northeastern got a great performance from  Hailey Elsrod as she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit over 4.2 innings pitched.

 At the plate,  Alexis Russell was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Isabella Peed, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 Northeastern was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .405. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Northeastern's record is now 3-1. As for Delta, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record  this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern will square off against Tri at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Delta, they will challenge Centerville at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5  runs per game  this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
