Baseball Recap: Talawanda Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Talawanda's offense. They came up short against the Larue County Hawks on Thursday, falling 16-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Brave were not able to get on the board.

Talawanda got a good showing from Austin Puckett, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

Talawanda is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Larue County, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Talawanda will take on Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Larue County, they will face off against Holy Cross at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.33 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
