Basketball Recap: James Madison Takes a Loss

James Madison lost against Georgetown Visitation Prep back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The James Madison Warhawks fell 53-44 to the Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs. The Warhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Georgetown Visitation Prep to victory were Jocelyn Gill and Alyssa Fitzgerald. Gill posted 22 points and eight boards, while Fitzgerald put up 16 points and six steals. Fitzgerald's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madison Doerr, who earned six points.

James Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Georgetown Visitation Prep, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

James Madison will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Centreville at 5:45 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Georgetown Visitation Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Connelly School of the Holy Child at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
