Morningside Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They really took it to the Brevard HEAT Firehawks for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-24 victory. The Eagles (Eddy) haven't had any issues with the Firehawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Morningside Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from AJ Chang, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine assists. The dominant performance also gave Chang a new career-high in shooting accuracy (69%). Aiden Valcin was another key player, shooting 53% from the field on his way to 19 points and six rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Morningside Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brevard HEAT only posted two.

Looking ahead, Morningside Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Jensen Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brevard HEAT, they and Calvary Chapel Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
