Baseball Recap: Riverview Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Riverview ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Flat Rock Rams 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jameson Gelineau was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Riverview's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 3-1 (and 1-9 when he doesn't). Gelineau was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson DeCamillis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Riverview: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Hustick, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Riverview's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Flat Rock, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
