Basketball Recap: Bennington Comes Up Short

If Bennington was feeling good fresh off their 56-24 takedown of Mill Creek last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bennington Bears took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Caney Cougars on Thursday. The Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Bennington has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Caney, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-10.

Bennington will take on Clayton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clayton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bennington surely won't give up without a fight. As for Caney, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Caney Cougars duke it out with the Coleman Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
