Whittier Christian is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Heritage Christian is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Heralds will host the Warriors at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Whittier Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

While Whittier Christian's victory against Valley Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Heralds skirted past the Defenders 3-1.

Bobbie Lozano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Whittier Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gigi Bojorquez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Bojorquez a new career-high in doubles (two).

Meanwhile, Heritage Christian came up short against Highland on Saturday and fell 6-2. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Whittier Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Heritage Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Whittier Christian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Heritage Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Whittier Christian took their victory against Heritage Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Heralds repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
