Basketball Recap: Clinton Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If Clinton Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 70-31 takedown of Benton Academy on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Clinton Christian Academy Warriors fell just short of the Cathedral Green Wave by a score of 56-53 on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Green Wave are ranked 253rd).

Clinton Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Cathedral, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Clinton Christian Academy and Hillcrest Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hillcrest Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. As for Cathedral, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bowling Green at 4:15 p.m. on January 11, 2025.
