Softball Recap: Hondo Has No Trouble Against Crystal City

Hondo won the last time they faced Crystal City and things went their way on Friday too. The Owls blew past the Javelinas 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Owls.

Kristyn Ybarra was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Xevi Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Hondo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.

Hondo now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Crystal City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hondo will challenge Lytle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Owls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Crystal City, they will take on Cotulla at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Javelinas' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
