Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Martinsville). They managed a 60-54 win over the Bassett Bengals on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bengals, too.

Despite the loss, Bassett still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Perkins, who posted 18 points. Perkins' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Alex Redd was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Martinsville's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Bassett, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martinsville will challenge Magna Vista at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bassett, they will face off against Mecklenburg County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
