Football Recap: Plainville Blue Devils vs. Northwest Catholic Lions
After soaring to 43 points the game before, Plainville was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell 20-13 to the Northwest Catholic Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 34-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vincent Burbank, who threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 30 yards and one score. The Lions' leading receiver Kayden Davis was Burbank's top target yet again, picking up 156 receiving yards and one TD.
Plainville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Northwest Catholic, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Plainville and Northwest Catholic will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Blue Devils see the field they'll take on Bloomfield at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Northwest Catholic, their break will end when they face Rocky Hill at 6:30 p.m. on the 17th.
