Basketball Recap: Taylor County Takes a Loss

Taylor County played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 50-20 defeat at the hands of the Maclay Marauders.

Lauren Guyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Maclay, putting up 13 points and six steals. Josie Russo was another key player, posting nine points and five rebounds.

Taylor County's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Maclay, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Taylor County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Franklin County at 4:00 p.m. on December 30th. Maclay and Rocky Bayou Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maclay's defense has only allowed 26.3 points per game this season, so Rocky Bayou Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
