Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Mustangs vs. Seguin Matadors

The Jefferson Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Seguin Matadors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson will be strutting in after a win while Seguin will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, it was close, but Jefferson sidestepped Lanier for a 41-38 victory. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly three points.

Meanwhile, Seguin came up short against Lanier on Tuesday and fell 30-19.

Seguin dropped their record down to 13-19 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Jefferson, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-19.

Jefferson ended up a good deal behind Seguin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, losing 41-27. Can Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
