Soccer Game Preview: Coeur d'Alene vs. Lake City

The Coeur d'Alene Vikings will square off against the Lake City Timberwolves at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Coeur d'Alene is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Coeur d'Alene's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Moscow. Jaxon Fantozzi had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Coeur d'Alene got from the refs.

Brett Johnson and Isaac Lowder scored both of Coeur d'Alene's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake City). They blew past Upper Columbia Academy 7-0 on Monday. The victory was nothing new for Lake City as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lake City used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Upper Columbia Academy. Carter Brandon played for 40 minutes having averaged 18.4 this season. He made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Coeur d'Alene's win bumped their record up to 8-3-1. As for Lake City, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5-1.

Everything went Coeur d'Alene's way against Lake City in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Coeur d'Alene made off with a 4-0 win. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Timberwolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
