Volleyball Recap: Madera South Falls to Chowchilla in First Game of Season

Madera South unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Chowchilla Tribe on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13, 25-15.

Isabella Zaragosa paced Madera South's offense, picking up nine kills. Zaragosa got some help from Liyah Chavira and her 12 assists. Finally, Zaragosa was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Madera South will be playing at home against Sanger West at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chowchilla, they will venture away from home to face off against Washington Union at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
