Basketball Recap: Dexter Gets the Win

Dexter proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 44) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 win over the Sedan Devils. This was payback for Dexter, who suffered a 56-42 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sedan lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jackson Dowell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jem Gooden was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Dexter's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-3-1. As for Sedan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Dexter will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Central on February 11th. As for Sedan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-49 defeat against Flinthills on the 4th.
