Basketball Recap: Wellington Takes a Loss

Wellington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 39th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 70-46 to the Mountain View Mountain Lions. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.

Mountain View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Garland, who went 9-for-15 en route to 21 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Garland now owns an excellent 40.2% three-point shooting accuracy. Cole Tonniges was another key player, going 6-for-11 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Wellington's record is now 0-20. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Wellington will take on Severance at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Severance will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Wellington surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mountain View, they will face off against Northridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
