Softball Recap: Fryeburg Triumphs

Fryeburg lost to Oxford Hills back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Raiders walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Presli Knapp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits.

At the plate, Reagan Wilson was a standout: she got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Carlin Galligan, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Fryeburg now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Oxford Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fryeburg will welcome Lake Region at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oxford Hills, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Mt. Blue at 4:00 p.m. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
