Baseball Recap: Knippa Beats Benavides for Their Third Straight Victory

Knippa extended their postseason success on Saturday against Benavides. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Eagles. The win was nothing new for the Crushers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Memphis G made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one double.

G wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole M, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits M has posted since back in March. Johnny R was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Knippa's record is now 10-12. As for Benavides, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-6.

Looking ahead, Knippa will take on Moulton on Thursday. Benavides does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
