Softball Recap: Lewiston Comes Up Short

Lewiston came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 19-8 to the Sandpoint Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 4-3 defeat two weeks ago.

Corrina Scoville and Morgan Thayer did some serious damage despite the final result: Scoville went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Thayer got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Adison Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Lewiston has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Sandpoint, their record is now 9-13-1.

Lewiston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sandpoint, they have already played their next matchup, a 6-0 loss against Lakeland on the 8th.
