Chaparral won the last time they faced Roosevelt and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pumas took their contest with ease, bagging a 61-29 victory over the Mustangs. Given the Pumas' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Mustangs are ranked 228th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chaparral's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dane Weber, who threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 72 yards and one score. The win made it two in a row for Chaparral and bumps their season record up to 5-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Roosevelt, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
