It's playoff time, and Carlsbad had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Cibola Cougars on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Cavemen/Cavegirls: when they faced off against the Cougars on Friday, they had to take a 8-4 loss.

Carlsbad has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cibola, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season.

Carlsbad will have a chance to go back-to-back against Cibola: the pair will be back at it again later today.
