Preview: Mesa Jackrabbits vs. Liberty Panthers
The Mesa Jackrabbits and the Liberty Panthers will round out the year against one another at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Mesa will be strutting in after a victory while Liberty will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Mesa earned a 53-40 win over Hamilton. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mesa.
Anthony Seumanu was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. McKy Peters was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Liberty's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hardin-Jefferson. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with Hardin-Jefferson: they've now lost eight in a row.
Mesa's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
