Volleyball Recap: Greenwood Woodmen vs. Franklin Central Flashes
Greenwood lost against Franklin Central back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Woodmen came up short against the Flashes, falling 3-0. The Woodmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Greenwood was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 25-15.
Maddison Judge paced Greenwood's offense, picking up 13 kills. Judge got some help from Adrianna Rosebrock and her 20 assists. Bella Hyde controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Franklin Central was led to victory by Kinley Huotari and Bella Moore. Huotari had 13 digs and four aces, while Moore had seven digs and five aces. That's the most digs Huotari has posted since back in October of 2024. Brooklyn Wake also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Greenwood's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Franklin Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.
Greenwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Plainfield on the 16th. As for Franklin Central, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Avon on the 18th.
