Softball Preview: Mineral Ridge Rams vs. McKinley Trojans

Mineral Ridge is 8-0 against McKinley since May of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mineral Ridge Rams will look to defend their home field against the McKinley Trojans at 5:00 p.m. After both teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Mineral Ridge owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Lowellville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mineral Ridge.

Savannah Turek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Turek was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, a double, and an RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaliyah Wall, who went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Laney Rigley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
