Basketball Game Preview: Parrish Community Bulls vs. IMG Academy Silver Ascenders

The Parrish Community Bulls will square off against the IMG Academy Silver Ascenders at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Parrish Community is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Palmetto just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 66-34. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Tigers are ranked 117th).

IMG Academy Silver hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They managed a 47-43 win over Odyssey Charter School on Friday.

Parrish Community's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for IMG Academy Silver, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.

Parrish Community took their win against IMG Academy Silver when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 68-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parrish Community since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
